Recently, a number of LocalTrifecta team members took the plunge and got certified to use Google AdWords. Drew Bay, Payman Torkiyan, Puya Turkiyan, Sam Araki and I (Ramesh Ranjan) completed the certification program for Google AdWords. Drew was already certified and was getting re-certified as that’s what Google requires.
Google AdWords History
In 2000, Google began it’s Online Advertising service called Google AdWords. In 2005, they launched the Google Advertising Program (GAP) to offer a certification to advertisers who completed training and an exam. Paid Search Advertising has rapidly grown and accounts for most of Google's revenues.
In the last year, Google has reformed its certification process. They introduced the Google Partners certification. Advertisers can still become certified but now through an enhanced portal with extensive training modules, multiple exams and plenty of other support resources.
How Does The Google AdWords Certification Now Work?
While the Google AdWords training sessions are more or less optional, it’s strongly recommended you go through them. It can become quite overwhelming with several different modules (after all, Google Adwords is a complex platform), but if you're interested in becoming certified, we suggest you jump right now while you're figuring out AdWords. You are required to pass 2 out of 3 exams to become Google AdWords Certified.
So Is LocalTrifecta A Certified Google Partner?
The answer is yes. We have been Google Partner certified since the program began and Drew has been AdWords certified since 2012.

What Does Being Google Adwords Certified Mean?
For all of our clients, being Google AdWords certified means that our wealth of expertise on everything Paid Search has been tested. Not only did 5 of our team members pass 2 exams, we excelled at those tests. Being Google AdWords certified means we are able to proficiently manage AdWords campaigns efficiently for our clients so that they maximize ROI while minimizing ad spend.
